Meeting is 7 p.m., March 2
at Wyoming Game and Fish in Casper

Our meetings are the first Thursday
of the month

Let me start with a big THANK YOU to everyone who supported our 6th Annual Walleye Banquet last month. It was a huge success again. Even with the uncertainty of our economy we still managed to bring a few more bucks than last year. We truly appreciate everyone's effort to help sell tickets and set up the room. I would especially like to thank LaCinda Tilton who put a ton of hours in to make sure the money was accounted for. I would also like to thank Larry Forsberg for the great job as our auctioneer. Of course each year we learn a little more about what to do and what not to do. We did hear a few complaints about the seating arrangements and we will be sure to get those issues taken care of by next year. We would encourage anyone who thinks they have a worthy cause that promotes walleye fishing or its resources to please attend a meeting and pitch your idea.

Fishing season is officially upon us. I was surprised to see how many people were already hitting lakes. Last weekend the lower ramp at Whisky was packed with boats and it sounded like quite a few good quality fish were being caught on Saturday. Looks like the spawn is right around the corner so I would encourage everyone to be selective in their harvest. Water temp was around 42 degrees and fish have been reported just about everywhere on the lake. A few reports from Alcova have been promising. Not big numbers but the quality is there again this year. I've even talked to a couple of guys that were catching walleyes from shore at Pathfinder and my understanding on Keyhole was that the ice is just about gone and boats should be out on the open water soon.

We are truly blessed to live in a state that gives us so many opportunities so this year I challenge everyone out there to take someone fishing that hasn't been out for a while wether it be a young child or just someone that doesn't get the opportunity. I know this year I plan to pay it forward. When you get that boat unwrapped display the club logo with pride. See you on the water! - Brian Woodward, President

Toughman Tournament

This years Toughman Tournament at Alcova Reservoir will be headquartered at the Alcova Marina. The new owners have allowed us to use their facilities and will have food and bait available. You will be able to camp at the marina but you will still need to get a camping permit. We will be able to use the boat slips at no charge during the weigh-in and for pre tournament boat inspections.

We will try again to pay back 100% of the entry fees if not more. It would be great if we can have 36 boats or more as that would be a record. See you there.
