Our July family outing at Pathfinder Reservoir was again very pleasant although lightly attended. Fishing was a bit slow but enough fish was caught so no one left hungry. LaCinda Tilton won the big fish award for the second time. Like to thank Larry Rue, Buddie Dunn, Joe Mercado, and Joel Shinmori for cleaning the fish and to Howard and Nina Ewart, Roy and Lotus Herrington for cooking and serving the food. Excellent as always. Nice job gang. A reminder that the Wyoming Hunting and Fishing Heritage Expo is coming next month, Sept. 10, 11, 12 at the Casper Event Center.. We will be there on the 12th to hand out a trailer load of poles to the kids. We will need some volunteers to help hand them out. Pathfinder Reservoir is still filling, which is good news. It appears BuRec is moving some water from Seminoe Reservoir to Pathfinder Reservoir. Rumors are this will continue for the next few months. I mentioned to Al Condor, Wyoming Game and Fish regional fisheries manager, that with the increase volume of water in Pathfinder we might be able to come up with some funds to pay for some gizzard shad to be deposited into Pathfinder. He stated problems with importing forage fish because of the zebra mussel problem. I suggested we net some from Glendo for transplanting. Maybe some more members could blow in his ear. Some of our members fished in the Cabela's National Team Championship Tournament July 25-26 at Devils Lake, North Dakota. The winning team had a two day total of ten fish weighing 48.12 lbs. There was a total entry of 213 boats. Ken Mayer and Rick Walter finished 24th with 8 fish at 25.21 lbs. Brian Woodward and Dave Rice finished 73rd with 8 fish at 18.09 lbs. John and Brandon Green finished 110th with 6 fish at 14.34 lbs. Poaching is Mutiny on your Bounty!
