Meeting is December 4
at Wyoming Game and Fish in Casper
Our meetings are the first Thursday
of the month

Free Food -- Plus Karaoke Night!!

If you only make one club meeting this year, this is the one to make. This is our "Christmas Party" meeting. We will have free main course cooked for us by the Silver Fox Restaurant. The club will provide free soft drinks, plates, utensils, and the like. If you can please bring a covered dish.

Plus we will have free gifts for most if not all attendees. At every meeting we have a drawing from the entire club membership. If that member is present they win a $100 gift certificate that was donated from Sportsman's Warehouse. If we don't have a winner we add $10 a month. This month we will have a drawing for $150. If we don't have a winner, we will continue to draw for the $100 Sportsman's Warehouse certificate, but without the bonus, until we have a winner. I forgot to mention who the October Lucky Loser was . That was Rance Lehnen. Our Noverber Lucky Loser was Bill Daniels.

This month we will also have the year end "Losing Raffle Ticket" drawing where we draw from all the years losing raffle tickets. This is for a embroidered CarHartt jacket. We are working with a local vendor who is going to digitize our new logo which will enable us to have embroidered jackets, coats, sweaters and such available to all who would like them for a nominal fee.

Some of you may have noticed the new club logo sticker that was inserted into your newsletter. If you would like some more, we will be giving two of them to each attendee of our Christmas meeting. After that I think we will be selling them also for a nominal fee, which I'm guessing would be a single dollar each.

We are having our banquet meetings now. For now they are once a month, the Monday after our club meeting. They are at the Sliver Fox Lounge and start at 6:00 PM. All are welcome to help plan our banquet and to help start the sorting out of all the loose ends that come up.

We have yet to resolve the empty position of club secretary. It is a thankless, unappreciated job that has no pay, benefits, and no rewards for a job well done. On the plus side you won't have to fetch coffee. It might be just the thing for you.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, who was very nearly Senator John McCain's running mate this year, told the decidedly subdued, post-election conference Wednesday about a revelation he had recently while looking into the bathroom mirror at his home in Minnesota.

Mr. Pawlenty said that after wearily returning from the campaign trail, he looked at himself in the mirror and complained about what he saw to his wife, Mary. "I said, 'Mary, look at me,' " he said. " 'I mean, my hairline's receding, these crow's feet and wrinkles are multiplying on my face by the day, I've been on the road eating junk food, I'm getting flabby, these love handles are flopping over the side of my belt.' "I said, 'Is there anything you can tell me that would give me some hope, some optimism, some encouragement?' " he said. "And she looked at me and she said, 'Well, there's nothing wrong with your eyesight.' "

At our November meeting, Wyoming Game and Fish fishing Supervisor Al Condor came by and gave us a video presentation on invasive species, primarily Zebra and Quagga mussels. It was not pleasant to watch knowing that Wyoming is very vulnerable to these invasive species. It was reported that at the present time, seven lakes and reservoirs in Colorado are known to be infected.

If they get introduced to Seminoe Reservoir it will take out the whole North Platte system. It will without a doubt raise havoc with the walleye fisheries as the mussels will remove the food for the bait fish fry as well as game fish fry.

I don't know what we can do as a club other than keep a lookout for infected trailers at our lakes. Don't trailer to out of state lakes without checking to see if they are infected. if they are then make sure to decontaminate you boat and trailer as well as live wells and engine cooling systems. after visiting out of state. At the very least, try to visit http://www.100thmeridian.org/ for information dealing with this problem.

Fishing reports

I don't have much to report this month. Boysen seems to be the place to be if the wind is blowing, Glendo if it's not. No reports on Pathfinder or Alcova.

Some luck was had fishing the flats in Muddy Bay at Boysen with some walleyes and perch being caught in the last few weeks. A trend was noticed that if you had a certain person in your boat that the fishing would be great but the catching would suffer. It is possible other persons have this same ability, more research is pending. More info available at our Dec. meeting.
