Meeting is 7 p.m., February 5
at Wyoming Game and Fish in Casper
Our meetings are the first Thursday
of the month

Not much to report this month. The work to get this year's "All you can eat" Walleye banquet off the ground is in full swing. Banquet organizing committee meets every Monday at 6:00 PM at Silver Fox Lounge. Stop by. Because of the national financial meltdown some of our biggest donors have been backing off in their sponsorships. So we are trying to be more creative in making this years banquet as successful as years past. We are asking members to help round up items we can auction off or perhaps use as door prizes and the like. Perhaps suggest your employer to participate by attending or supporting our banquet.

I would suggest you get your tickets as soon as possible as we plan to do some advertising soon which should help us sell out earlier that usual. We missed having a sellout of 500 tickets last year by about 30 tickets. We don't want that to happen this year.

At our January meeting Brandon Green gave an informative presentation on ice fishing on our area lakes. Brandon is an accomplished walleye fisherman who has won or placed in the top 10 in many Wyoming tournaments.

It should be mentioned that the ice on area lakes is marginal at best. One truck and two ATV's have already gone through the ice at Boysen Reservoir this year. It was also reported that some ATVs have gone through the ice at Glendo. One report of a fisherman going through the ice stated that he was fishing in 12 inches of ice and fell though a few yards away where the ice was very thin. Be cautious, carry safety spikes, and never fish alone.

Our winning loser for January, who missed out on an $100 gift certificate from Sportsman's Warehouse was Asa Gillespie. We have a drawing each meeting and if that member is present they win the certificate. If no winner, then we add $10 each month.

Our club website, www.npwalleyes.com, is ranked #57 of all the walleye sites. I'd like to see that move up the charts a bit. So I suggest those will internet access visit our site as often as they can so we can up our numbers. I'm going to work on our better fisherpersons to write some timely articles to be posted on our site to make it more worthy.

On the lighter side

What Norwegians won't say

Three Norwegians went to Mexico to celebrate college graduation, got drunk, and woke up in jail, only to find that they were to be executed, though none of them could remember what they did the night before.

The first one, Sven, was strapped in the electric chair, and asked if he had any last words. He said, " I just graduated from Waldorf College and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent." The executioner threw the switch and nothing happened. The jailers all fell to the floor and begged for Sven's forgiveness, and released him.

The second, Lars, was strapped in and said "I just graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead and I believe in the power of justice to intervene on the part of the innocent." The executioner threw the switch and, again nothing happened. Again the jailers all immediatly fell to their knees and begged for his forgivness, and released him.

The last one, Ole, was strapped in and said, "Vell, I am from Nort Dakota State University and yust graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering; and I'll tell ya right now, ya ain't gonna electricute nobody if you don't plug dis ting in."
