Monthly meeting
7 p.m. May 4
at Game and Fish Building

Our Tough Man Tournament went well. The approximately 85 anglers had to deal with temps in the 70's, winds in the 2's, and the skys in the blue. The fishing was tough for most contestants. The team of Mike Bailey, Don Kaufman, Tim Winehandle won the big walleye award with a 11.63 lb trophy. Mike was using a Fin S minnow in the white silver color fishing in the canyon. Big trout was won by the team of Daniel Reedy, Corey Bauer, Tambra Brewer with 5.82 lb fish. Complete results are posted on our website.

We would like to thank Chuck Mcauley for letting us use his 5th wheel trailer for our tournament head- quarters and also thank Heather Bundy for being our weigh master, and thank the other members who helped with the tournament. We picked up 22 new members at the tournament.

If you haven't paid your membership dues yet this will be your last newsletter. Then you would miss next months issue which might have a lucky number. Last years lucky number issue is now a collectors item.

We won't be having club meetings in June, July, or August. Instead we will be having family outings at area lakes. Our first family outing with be June 17th at the Sagebrush Shelter, near the Whiskey Gulch boat launch at Glendo Reservoir. Bring your own utensils and plates and a covered side dish. The club will provide sodas, chips, onion rings, and oil for the fish fry. We will be having a drawing at the family outing for the Sportsman's Warehouse gift certificate. We will have a big fish plaque for biggest fish.

April's winning loser was Bill Elmore. Each month at our monthly meeting we draw from our entire membership, if that member is at the meeting he wins $100 gift certificate from Sportsman's Warehouse.

Club members Rick Walter and Bruce Brugger won third place at the Lowrance sponsored FoodSource Lures NO LIVE BAIT Challenge at Lake Francis Case, S.D. - April 12, 13, 14, 2006. Members John Green and Joe Johnson won 9th. The team of John Marohn and Mitch Horning won the Pheasant City Lodge Big Fish Award. Nice job guys.

Some quotable quotes

It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
