~~~ Wyoming has the largest percentage of nonresident anglers of all 50 states (60% of anglers that fish Wyoming’s waters are nonresidents). Alaska ranks second with 57%. California and Illinois are tied for the smallest percentage of nonresident anglers at 6%. ~~~ In 2001, 293,000 anglers spent $212 million on angling in Wyoming. Each angler spends an average of over $700 on his or her hobby each year. ~~~ Wyoming anglers spend 78% of their time fishing for trout, 19% of their time fishing for walleye and sauger, and 3% of their time fishing for other types of fish. |
